Hubballi: Congress Stands by Town Inspector Rafiq Tahsildar, Denounces BJP’s Religious Criticism
Hubballi: The Congress party is strongly opposing the targeting of Town Police Inspector Rafiq Tahsildar, expressing objections to the slogans raised by BJP activists against the Inspector. BJP workers allege that, due to Rafiq’s minority community background, he took action against Karsevak Srikanth Poojari out of personal grudge.
Rajat Ullagaddimath, a Congress leader, criticized BJP leaders for their mindset and condemned their criticism of the Inspector, particularly based on his religion. Rajat shared several photographs of the inspector participating in the worship of Hindu Gods. The young Congress leader emphasized that Inspector Rafiq Tahsildar is a secular officer who has never demonstrated bias.
The controversy revolves around accusations that Inspector Rafiq, belonging to a minority community, unfairly targeted Srikanth Poojari, drawing attention to potential religious bias. However, Congress is countering these claims by highlighting the inspector’s participation in Hindu rituals, emphasizing his secular approach to his duties.
